Here Is my latest Ammonite wall sculptural piece.
Starting with a slab of clay, trying to imagine what the ancestral (sqid/octopus/natilus) body might have appeared to look like as it ventured out from it's shell 400 million years ago, I began to scupt.
I proceeded with a series of 4 separate kiln firings,
1 Bisque, 3 glaze; as each glaze required a different temperature inorder to create a patenia/rustic/ancient presentation from within the claybody itself.
I LOVE this piece and all the happiness it gifted me with each step towards the progress of its New Beginning.
